Privacy
WAWI Outdoor and Adventure is a new Australian camping and touring gear business. This page explains what we collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated 23 October 2026.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the waitlist, along with which sign-up form you used.
- Website usage, through Google Analytics: the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from Instagram or a search), your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or region). Google Analytics doesn’t give us your name, and we can’t see who you are from it.
Why we collect it
- To tell you when WAWI launches and send occasional news before then. Only if you joined the waitlist.
- To understand how many people are interested, where they’re coming from, and how to make the site better.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for anything unrelated to WAWI.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_…) so it can tell new visits from return visits. They last up to two years. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.
Who else handles it
We use trusted service providers to run the site: Google (analytics), Microsoft Azure (hosting) and an email service to manage the waitlist. These providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. They handle it on our behalf, not for their own marketing.
Your choices
- Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave the waitlist at any time.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you. Reply to any email from WAWI and we’ll sort it out.
Concerns
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, let us know first so we can fix it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
